Geocache Description:

Enjoy a beautiful walk out to the point. Sailboats and rowers were on the water today, along with a couple of fishermen. The cache container is a small thermos. It is filled with the usual stuff - Mardi Gras coins, lanyard, etc plus the logbook and pen. We used the trail/path along the north edge of the point to access the cache area. Some ups and downs and maybe mild bushwacking involved. Nothing serious. We put this cache out so cachers would enjoy the walk in the woods and the views from the point. That's Rick's Boatyard Cafe across the water and there is a cache just to the south of it. Caches and a good lunch all in one afternoon.

The above text is only slightly altered from Team J&K's original listing.

Update, July 8, 2018: The cache has been adopted and updated. The cache size and difficulty have been changed to reflect current conditions.

This cache is located in Eagle Creek Park. Park hours of 7am-9:30pm are in affect. Night caching is not permitted; logs indicating such will be deleted.

From the posted parking area, you will find an old boat launch ramp near the closed gate. If you follow the ramp down to near the water, there is a bit of trail which heads East towards the point. En route, you will pass an abandoned camp with the remains of a primitive A-Frame shelter. The trail comes and goes, but provides easiest access to the area near GZ.

The container is now Large. (There aren't enough Larges in the Indianapolis area.) It's a 5.56mm ammo can. Inside, you will find a logbook, a container inside specifically for TBs, and another prestocked with some swag. When I was onsite to drop the new container, I actually found the original thermos container about 30' downhill from the previous GZ, among some detritus that had been rain-washed towards the reservoir. It is also in the new container. I ask that you do not sign the original log or take swag from the thermos. It is there as a sort of "museum piece", or testament to Team J&K, and their effort in having placed this cache back in 2004. Again, please do not write in the thermos' log, or take any swag from it; just appreciate the history it represents.

Come and get it!
