Geocache Description:

This cache is along a scenic road up a mountain range. It has some spectacular views of Cairns city and the bay. Only a 30m scramble if you use a car, A 8km hike along the sealed road or about a 2km hard walk if you climb directly up the mountain.

THE EASY WAY.
Find your way to the turn-off up the mountain at 16o54.760'S 145o43.039'E. The road winds along up the mountain range towards the cache (8.1km). Along the way you will find a scenic lookout at 16o55.738's 145o43.254'E. Eventually at 16o57.576'S 145o42.690'E you will come to a small flat area on the outside of a curve suitable to park a car. There should be a quite steep little hill next to the parking area with a track leading up. The track starts just down from the car park (20meters). Follow the path up to the top (watching out for loose stones), where at 16o57.564'S 145o42.709'E you will find the cache in a hole in the ground. You will find the cache towards the east of the summit.
If you wish, there is a walking track down the mountain to the east with a old tree house to be found at 16o57.564's 145o42.736'E and as a bonus there is now a cache way down on the 'Ivan Evans walking track'. Ivan's View Point by Team Falling Numerals (GCXCWW).

THE HARD WAY rated 2/4.5
There are 2 track entrances that I know of up the mountain to the cache site. The Cache is up the Waddlebla downhill MTB track. Start is Ellen closeOne being at 16o57.718'S 145o43.481'E (Vine Close) and the best one called the 'Ivan Evans walking track' starting at 16o57.568'S 145o43.378'E (Ellen Close). On your way up the walking track you will come across an outlook at 16o57.491'S 145o43.210'E, a junction of the 'vine close' track and the 'Ivan Evans' track at 16o57.610'S 145o43.100'E, A tree house at 16o57.564S 145o42.736E and then the cache at 16o57.564'S 145o42.709'E but Its best to climb to the summit completely and then head back east a few metres.
To climb up the mountain directly you would need good bushwalking/tramping boots, lots of water and be quite fit.
As a bonus there is now a cache along the way on the 'Ivan Evans walking track'. Ivan's View Point by Team Falling Numerals (GCXCWW).
