Geocache Description:

Trail and parking is located about 2 miles East of Index on Hy 2. 2 mile round trip trail gains about 800ft to the restored Heybrook Lookout. Climb the lookout at your own risk.

This is a nice relatively easy hike on a good trail to Heybrook Lookout at 1600 ft elevation. The Mountaineers have restored this lookout and you can now climb to the observation deck with sweeping views of the Skykomish Valley east and west. Across the valley is 5,979 Mt Index and Mt Persis. Another cache Tims Stash is about .7 miles east along the ridge from the lookout. The low elevation allows access through out most of the year. This lookout will be available for rental soon, so keep a watch for that. Enjoy the view. Update: Aug 1, 07 Cache has been replaced to a new location. No climbing of the lookout is required.
