Lyukas Hill in Ságvár Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
We have placed our first box in Ságvár, near a less known sight.
Ságvár lies about 8 kms. from Siófok, near the Road 65. towards Szekszárd.
There were villages here even in the stone age. It was rebuilt in the late Roman times. Plenty of finds, thick walls, a Roman cemetery on Tömlöchegy (Tömlöc Hill) show that era. You can find only a few meter long wall left from the former 1 km waits, 2.5 km wide castle wall and also a sarcophagus made of stone in the garden with ancient ruins.
Parking: N 46° 50,067' E 18° 06,148'.
Walk straight towards the mountain.
We have placed the box to the Lyukas-domb (Lyukas Hill), 1.6 km from the parking place, which was made by the former vine-growers in order not to go round the mountain each time.
Measurement of the box: 17cm x 17cm x 8cm
Hiding place: over the hole, at the foot of the tree.
We wish You a pleasant trip and good searching!
Tom and Melinda
