Geocache Description:

Myth Me?

In this mythguided adventure you will discover the legend of Pygmallion, the King of Cyprus and his ivory goddess, Galatea. According to Greek mythology, Pygmalion fell in love with her as he sculpted the ivory statue, tucked her into his bed and brought her gifts. Finally, Aphrodite gave the statue life when Pygmalion kissed her ivory lips. Pygmallion gave Aphrodite a precious coin as a gift of thanks for his new creation. Not long after, in a case of mythfortune, Aphrodite lost it in this garden and still looks for it to this day. The weeping fountain cries tears of sadness for Aphrodite.

This is a case of mythtaken identity! With some help from the King you will find the hidden coin and leave your mark...if you are not mythlead.

  • Main coordinates are for the parking lot
  • Discover Galatea at 27.45.647 / 082.44.350
  • Count the tears the fountain is crying. Fill in the blank: ___ +28 = A
  • Journey to your next clue at 27.45.6_A_/ 082.44.344 Fill in the blank: ____ = B
  • Locate the coin 27.45.662 / 082.44._B_ Don't mythplace it!

You DO NOT need to walk in any of the gardens or plants

When we went to the garden we discovered a scroll that we believe provides an answer about the coin's location. We couldn't read it. Can you?
