Another Time Lord tobacco tin cache on Selattyn hill nr Oswestry. It called Mr Crewe's folly after the man who built the tower here in 1847. The tower is sited in a bronze age stone circle probably dating from 2000 BC.
I walked up here for the very first time today and just had to put a mini cache out - what a wonderful place. Park at Craignant quarry picnic site grid SJ 253 349 and walk up the Offa's Dyke path to the West of Selattyn hill and then follow the footpath that heads East and into the forest. Here you will loose GPS coverage until you get to the site itself. After the cache carry on along the footpath to the East and then North and make your way back along the road to your car. The views on a clear day are spectacular.
