Because every park deserves another second chance at a cache. This hide replaces an earlier one that was washed away by Hurricane Ivan.
This park just doesn't like to have caches hidden in it! (This will be the fourth one.) But we as geocachers are a stubborn lot and I like this park, so here we go again...
This is a fun three stage multi in a quiet little park close to Hershey. It contains a pavilion, some playground equipment, and two huge soccer/baseball fields. There is also a dam and fish ladder just off of some trails at the far corner of the fields.
At the above listed coordinates you will be searching for some numbers. (A smaller number and a larger number.) They're on the same side of the road as the parking lot so you won't have to go out into or across the street. Write down these two numbers. Then, walk across the road to these coordinates:
N40 17.252
W076 40.811
Here you will be searching for another set of numbers. When you find them, take the smaller number from stage one and subtract it from the top number. Plug that into these coordinates:
N40 17.XXX
Take the larger number from stage one and add it to the bottom number. Plug that number into these coordinates:
W076 40.XXX
Now you can head out through the fields to the final stop. They may be a little mushy after a recent rain and there's a short bushwhack at the final 30 or so feet. You seek a custom camouflage painted ammo can that's hidden in a tight spot. (We don't want this one to float away.) You may need both hands to retrieve it. Inside there is a logbook, a bag of trade trinkets, and a FTF prize. When you're through, be sure to return everything EXACTLY as you found it.
