Many years ago this area was used for religious services.
Missionaries would hold religious services for the local Indians at this area. Some plaques are in the area that describe Friendship Altar's history.
Stairs to the north will lead you to a scenic outlook. Trees block most of the view but since it's a short walk, the climb is worth it. At the top is Tranquil Bluff Trail, which will take you to another cache I have, "Fly With The Eagles". A drinking fountain and a snack stand are also near the shore.
