The first stage of this cache takes you to a location where you’ll need to gather information to find the coordinates of the second stage, which is a small physical cache. The second and final stage was replaced on May 29, 2006 and again on July 29, 2007 and the container was changed from a small to a micro (bring your own pen or pencil!). Please be careful not to drop the cache and return the cache to the exact same spot where you found it. Please use stealth if the area is busy so that the cache doesn't get muggled again!
Stage 1 (coordinates given above) takes you to Tinker Falls, less than a quarter mile hike on a handicapped acessible wooded trail that meanders along the edge of a stream. At the falls, the stream plunges 30 feet over a limestone ledge, creating a “hanging falls”. With a little non-technical climbing (you’ll approach from down stream), you can stand behind the falls without getting wet! The trail head is just north of where the stream crosses State Route 91, on the east shoulder of the road. There is a parking area on the west side of the road, just north of the trail head.
When you reach the coordinates, write down the following information:
A = the month Michelle was born
B = the first (leftmost) digit of Michelle's age when she died
C = the last (rightmost) digit of Michelle’s age
D = the first (leftmost) digit of the day Michelle died
E = the sum of the first and third digits of the year Michelle was born
Stage 2 takes you to Labrador Pond, a half-mile long kettle lake left behind by the retreating glacier that gouged Labrador Hollow 12,000 years ago. Don’t try to bushwhack this one – you won’t make it! Take the well-marked trail – it’s less than a quarter mile from the parking lot to the coordinates, which are:
N 42 47.ABC W 076 03.D0E
Have fun and enjoy the views!
