The cache takes you to a view of the old community of Appleyard. It once was a thriving community with at least two large hotels, and a poolhall. It existed thanks to the trainyard nearby. (It is now a section of town that hosts a trailer area.)
You do not need to go off the flat area to get this cache. It should be right there, and easy, because this is a very exposed area. Be careful with children, as there is a bit of a drop off. Please hide cache well.

Now for a little story ~
On September 5, 1925 at 4:15pm, a flash flood caused a wall of water up to 20 feet high to come roaring down the canyon to wipe out the community of Appleyard.
The torrent was so strong that it moved buildings, trains, and boulders the size of trains. It twisted up the train tracks, and one of the hotels blocked the highway for a while. It took a week and a half for rescue and clean up efforts to get throught the mess.
The flood killed 14 people, and injured about a dozen others.
As you stand on this look out, imagine the scene that day.
