Geocache Description:


Hoffman Hills State Recreation Area offers 707 acres of preserved and restored wooded hills, wetlands, and prairie traversed with hiking and cross-country ski trails. It's an excellent bird watching area.

A 60-foot-high observation tower crowns one of the highest points in Dunn County, offering spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, especially in autumn.

State park vehicle admission stickers aren't required at Hoffman Hills, but each cross-country skier age 16 and older must have a state trail pass.

The area is open for deer hunting during the November deer gun season.

This is a great location for giants and others to hike anytime of the year. The terrain is quite varied and will require you to go up and down several good sized hills.

The Ogre's cache has a positionable Shrek character in it along with several other objects. As Ogres are not fond of people, the cache is not near the trail. But even Ogres like shelter and the cache is sheltered quite well in its hideaway. This is a winter friendly cache.
