This cache is located near a VFW Post (one may park in the lot), and it is also close to Hamlet's City Lake! Another cache is nearby!
Many local citizens fish and come to the City Lake in Hamlet, NC, to enjoy the area. On July 4 each year, there used to be fireworks that made the lake a special place for almost everyone in the area. There were many, many people who came for this event. But they had to relocate the event.
The lake is pretty from the area near this cache.
The container is a round metal cookie box painted black.
DISLAIMER: Remember when looking for this cache that this is the South. There are spiders, mosquitoes, snakes, poison ivy and oak, as well as sumac, deer flies and ticks. Every cache hunt is the decision of the cacher.
