Geocache Description:

Short easy walk from parking area to cache. Enjoy the surroundings after you find the cache. Watch out for deer!!!

Park at N 44 04.263 W 089 57.320

Cache is located at a secluded beach on Lake Petenwell (one of the largest man made lakes in the country). Come at sunset and you will be very happy. This is open public land (Wisconsin River Power Company), and you will pass by a nice public hiking trail (the Van Kuren Trail)on the way to the parking area. Note that in winter the last 1/4 mile of road may be unplowed and/or very sloppy/impassible.

Cache is an ammo box. Logbook is inside, along with the Golden Spike. There is a disposable camera in the cache, so take your picture and leave it in the cache, please!!

Bring along a plastic bag in case you encounter any trash. Keep this beautiful spot cleaner than it was when you arrived!!

Enjoy - this is my first cache.

UPDATE -> The Naterra Land Development Co is desparately trying to buy this property from the Wis. River Power Company for development of big $$ private residences. This public land will be lost forever, as will the Van Kuren trail.
