BARC, Better Akron
Recreation for Canines! Akron's only nonprofit organization
dedicated to the creation of recreational areas for dogs. In
conjunction with the City of Akron, BARC opened this wonderful dog
park in late September 2004. This cache is located down in Merriman
Valley, northern part of Akron. Entrance is off of Memorial
Parkway, same entrance used for the MetroParks Cascade Valley
Towpath Trail. This cache is NOT on MetroParks property.
Another Akron cache to fill the void! Fellow Akronites, pitch
in! Place caches! 
Kind of funny how this cache idea came to me. I pass thru the
Merriman Valley often, live just a mile away. We use the Towpath
trail for many family bike excursions. One day last week, as I was
driving past the new BARC dog park, I was thinking how I was going
to hide 
one of my son's (5yr old Odin)
favorite books, GO DOG, GO! He loves that book and has us
reading it so often that I no longer like that book! When I looked out at the crowded
dog park as I drove by, it reminded me of that book. Dogs
running everywhere! I also saw potential cache sites!
