The hike is a 4.5 kilometer return trip up a couple of relatively small hills - not difficult. It is a well worn path, however if geocaching for this in the winter one MUST use skis - no walking or snowshoeing permitted as this is a ski trail. Though, I am sure the cache would be buried in snow during the main winter months and difficult to find. In the summers however, walking is allowed. The hike is a gentle climb through a quiet forest - hope you enjoy!!
The parking area for your vehicle is located apporximately 17 kilometers North of the Town of La Ronge on Hwy 102. The gravel parking lot, adjacent to the Nemeiben Lake Junction off Hwy 102, is at the entrance of the Don Allen Ski Trails - the hike begins here. As you approach the trails you will see a skiing chalet to your left. There are two trails to your right, take the trail to your farthest right (note: you should pass through George's Gorge after approximately 5-7 minutes of walking!). At the top of the summit you will come to a small public building/cabin. The cache is a blue metal container about 14" by 12" by 3".
