bring a laptop to download coordinates, please send an email as well.
For those staying
the weekend only:
Caches:
We will be hiding at least 20 temporary caches on the 140 acres of camp
property. You will have from check-in Friday until Sunday 10:00 AM to find all
the temporary caches. There are also another 15+ permenant caches within a 20
mile radius of camp if you still want to cache (we'll have this info available).
Camp Facilities:
Besides caching, you also get these great camp facilities at your
disposal: cross country boots and skies with miles of trails, sledding hill
(equipped with plastic sleds, fire pit and floodlights), ice skates, 2 skating
rinks, hockey sticks, broom ball equipment, snow shoes, an ice shanty (bring
your own poles and license), and the ever popular sauna. You are welcome to
bring your own equipment as well. From experience, if you really want to go
sledding, bring a snow tube ( I have recorded speeds of 35 MPH+ down the hill
with one)!
Cabins/Bathhouses: You
will get two nights lodging in one of the camp cabins. Each cabin will sleep
10 and is equipped with a gas furnace and a wood burning fireplace (firewoods
is supplied by the camp free). Each cabin has electrical outlets and modern
lighting. There are a few chairs in the cabins, but they are either not comfy
or in need of help! Mens and Womens bath houses are located across from the
cabins. They are heated and offer private showers/toilets as well as electrical
outlets.
Food: You
are on your own! You can bring a small grill to put on the deck of the cabin
(no grilling inside), or there are several restaurants nearby serving all kinds
of food. If you like your coffee, feel free to bring a coffeeemaker and plug
it in in the cabin. Snacks are a very good idea.
Arrival/Departure:You may arrive at camp
anytime after 5:30 PM on Friday, January 28th. You must check in at the dining
hall (above coordinates) for maps, cabin assignments and cache lists. After
that, you're on your own! You must clean and remove all garbage and vacate the
cabins by 12:00PM Sunday, January 30th.
What to Bring With You:
Your GPS unit and a sense of fun! You will
need to bring your own bedding (sleeping bag, pillows etc), warm clothes, food
and beverages (and utensils - plates, silverware, cups etc), swimsuit or T-shirt/shorts
for the sauna, bath towels/shower supplies and chairs for the cabins. You may
bring any other personal items you would like.
