Geocache Description:

The co-ordinates given above are NOT the true final location. They are an average of the spots where you will find the necessary information to locate this cache.

“Two by land one by sea,” calls out Adam Sherills to George Davidson. “Two clues found by land, the treasure secured by water”, he says. George replies, “I thought I could surf the clues, Adam.” “Correct George, you can,” Adam yells back. Read on.

Sitting on a bench by a dam site reading the “Early Trans- Catawba History” you notice numbers all over. Finding the correct, “xxx” number is necessary for the missing latitude number of the final cache location.
This bench is at N35.25.684 W 080.57.590

Needing the numbers for the longitude for the final cache puts you reading the Early history. You’re very near a Pinnacle this time. Not to worry at N 35.36.368 W 080.56.207 you find more numbers but now can easily insert the missing digits “yyy” for the cache.

By sea you’ll be up a creek a “Little.” From the main, navigate left (Southeast) of the small island connected to the bank. If not, you’ll be sunk for sure. By land the dirt way is good by foot or wheel. Chas. says OK, for now that is. You see it is fluke it is owned by Duke. Remember it is by the side of the beach.

Final location is: N 35.32.xxx W 080.58.yyy

Where the latitude “xxx” is the last 3 digits of the year Adam Sherrills migrated here plus the number of sons he came here with.

And “yyy” is the last 3 digits in the year of the Cherokee uprising minus one.
The clues can be obtained by finding a finely spun web here on Lake Norman and reading about the Lake and some history.

Good luck
