Der Cache besteht aus einer schwarzen Filmdose.

Am 6. August 1945 um 8:16 Uhr Ortszeit detonierte die vom US-Bomber Enola Gay abgeworfene US-amerikanische Atombombe „Little Boy“ in etwa 600 m Höhe über dem bis dahin von Bombardierungen verschont gebliebenen Hiroshima. Dies war der weltweit erste Atomwaffeneinsatz. Dieser verursachte zwischen 90.000 und 200.000 Todesopfer und zerstörte 80 % der Stadt. Viele weitere Menschen starben an den Spätfolgen oder leiden noch heute an ihnen. aus Wikipedia_deutsch
Die kleine Brücke und eine Seitenstraße, in der auch die Botschaft von Japan liegt, erinnern an dieses schreckliche Ereignis, das sich 2005 zum 60. Mal jährt.
In der Filmdose befindet sich inzwischen nur noch ein Papierstreifen als Logbuch, ~~ein Bleistift und ein Anspitzer~~

The cache is a film canister. It has a Geocaching.com sticker all around it. It is in the banisters of the bridge. You can park your car on the Southern or on the Northern side of the “Canal” (Landwehrkanal) or in a side street (Hiroshimastraße).

History:The nuclear weapon Little Boy, which slaughtered an estimated 80000 civilians and heavily damaged the city, was the second such device to be detonated, and the first ever used in military action.
The American atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are commonly believed to be the major factor leading to the surrender of the Japanese government six days after the latter attack.

However, at the time the atomic bombs were dropped, the Japanese position was extremely weak and defeat was considered inevitable by some historians even without the use of the atomic bombs. In fact, according to this article, at least one historian conjectures that the use of the atomic bombs was completely unnecessary.
Others propose that with Soviet forces massing in Manchuria, dwindling resources, and America's total control of the western Pacific, Japanese defeat was only a matter of time, but the atomic bombs had clearly hastened the decision to surrender. However, Japanese soldiers had proven a willingness to fight to the death, refuse surrender, and an invasion of the Japanese mainland would have surely killed more soldiers and civilians than the atomic bombs, according to U.S. plans for the invasion.

21.02.2005 15.20 Uhr: Cachekontrolle durchgeführt und die Filmdose wieder an die "richtige" Stelle gesteckt.

04.06.2005 13:30 Uhr Heute habe ich neue Logstreifen im Cache untergebracht und ihn wieder an der alten (ursprünglichen) Stelle versteckt.

19.03.2009: bald wird dieser Cache 5 Jahre! neuen Logstreifen in den Cache gelegt. Alles ok ;-)))

23.011.2009: dieser Cache liegt jetzt 5 Jahre

und wird heute/morgen(?) zum 1000. Mal gefunden werden

04.11.2011: dieser Cache liegt jetzt fast 7 Jahre

und wird bald zum 2000. Mal gefunden werden

Und er war jetzt zum 1. Mal verschwunden.
