You'll need to figure out 3 offset values to determine the cache co-ordinates.
Start at the trail head at N44°38.523' W63°40.379'.
Value A: Count the number of nature interpretation signs along the main gravel trail between the start and the end at N44°38.528' W63°40.115' (including the information sign at the trail head). Divide this number by 1000.
Value B: At the interpretation sign at N44°38.474' W63°40.250', how many different types of spruce trees are mentioned? Divide this number by 10. I've been told this sign is missing; the number of spruce trees mentioned was 2.
Value C: At the interpretation sign off the trail at N44°38.492' W63°40.177', how many different types of maple trees are mentioned? Multiply this number by 35/1000.
The final cache co-ordinates are:
Take the trail head northing and subtract C from the minutes.
Take the trail head westing, subtract B from the minutes, and then add A to the minutes.
The cache is a round cylindrical plastic container with a green top. At hiding time, it contained geocaching stickers, a monthly planner, hair clips, a $4 movie coupon (since the theatres are just a jump away), and Metro Transit bus tickets.
This cache should not take more than a half hour. A good place to leave a car is a small 4 spot parking area at N44°38.483' W63°40.332'. This is right off the road at the end of a larger business parking lot, though it has been filling up lately. There is also a small parking area right at the trail head, and they've made it a bit better so you don't need a 4x4 to get to it.
