This cache is located atop a little known hill in the Anacortes Community Forest Lands. If a forest lands map is used, a .62 mile hike with about a 100 foot elevation gain will take you to the cache. Using only the compass feature on your GPS, one would have to hike no more than 1.52 miles to the treasure.
A short ramble through the woods, this experience will take you through marshy cedar woods and a gradual climb through salal and oregon grape. Notice the shore pines that grow on the knoll, evidence of the bedrock that lies not far beneath your shoes. The best place to park is at N 48° 28.034 W 122° 37.811 , follow your GPS from there.
The container is an ammo can, originally stocked with an MSR stove bag, elephant leather wallet, mini flashlight, and monocular case.
