Geocache Description:

Located in a pocket of BLM land along the Sacramento River in an Ammo can.

April 5, 2005: Property lines have been surveyed and the trail in from City of Redding land has been cleared. The trail to follow is pretty obvious. As of this date, there is no fencing between public and private...I suggest keeping dogs leashed until you get on the BLM.

Oct. 11 2008 Routine maintenance run today...replaced the tin with an ammo can and restocked the goodies.

"Riparian Paradise", is my name for one of the nicest and most pristine of any Shasta County undeveloped riverland public places. Each time I have come here I have been treated to something special from Mother Nature. A main trail cuts through a mixed hardwood forest, opening into small meadows and broad open areas, and many smaller branch trails meander off and invite exploration. There were 3 significant Wintu Indian villages along this stretch of river and in 2005 a major archaeological excavation was made that uncovered lodges, houses, cemeteries, and much, much more.
