We placed this cache to highlight one of the great places we have here in Kalgoorlie. This area is a nice place for a picnic or to take your dog or dogs for a run and a swim (swimming only recommended for the dogs) or to try out their skills on the dog agility course that is in this area.

We have placed the cache at the base of what we thought was a River Gum but on our way back to the car we discovered a sign infront of a tree that looked very similar to the one where we stashed the cache, and that one was a Salmon Gum, so we will leave it to you to decide what flavour of gum tree it is. In the park there are over 40 different types of gum trees alone let alone the other many types of trees.

The cache container is a clear plastic screw top type of around 1lt and contains the log book and a few small items. The tree that it is at the base of, is around 500mm in diameter and covered over with some fallen leaf and bark matter.
