Geocache Description:

In cooperation with Oakland County Parks, this cache is placed in Rose Oaks County Park by a member of the Michigan Geocaching Organization. This cache is a Rubbermaid container.

There are oak trees in this park. Rose Oaks County Park is in Rose Township. Rose Township is in Oakland County. So it is appropriate that the name of the geocache includes the words Rose and Oak.

A permit is required for entrance to the Oakland County Parks. If you are ticketed for not having a daily or annual pass, the fine is $75.

Parking entrance is from Fish Lake Rd.

The first set of coordinates will take you to a manmade object built of stones. Why is this object out here? The top row of stones is what you are interested in. There are some stones missing but it is easy to tell how many are missing.

Count the stones in the top row of stones. Include the missing stones in the number. For the North coordinates multiply the number times 3 and add the result to 228. This total is the decimal part of the north coordinate for the final stage of the geocache. For the West coordinates, multiply the number of stones (including the missing stones) times 3 and add the result to 538. This total is the decimal part of the West coordinate for the final stage of the geocache.
