Some history:
1678: Carl Sparre and his swedish army set fire to the town, all burns down exept the church. Skott-Oluf, owns the building, but sells to the Angell family before the turn of the century.
1702: Albert Angell, the mayor, sells the property to mine registrar Peder Hjort.
1844: Merchant John N. Ramm buys the property, builds a new main building, and opens a shop.
1863: Ramm becomes the second cashier of Røros Sparebank, and makes the cellar into a bank vaults. Olava Sendresen runs the shop.
1899: Lars Petersen Skjerdingstad buys the property, and continues running the shop.
1962: The backyard buildings burn down, but small damage to the main building. Outside one of the entrances to this backyard you will find the cache sylinder behind a stone in the wall.
1967: Nord-Kro buys the fire damaged property, and opens a inn.
1980: Atle Ødegård buys the property, rebuilds the backyard buildings whith guest accomodation.
1988: Røros Turisthotell buys the property, and continues running it as an inn with accomodation.
2004: To day Røros Verthus is well recomended for their first class modern rooms, appartments, the professional kitchen and restaurant. You can read more about them here: http://www.vertshusetroros.no/eng/

Litt om historien:
1678: Carl Sparre og svenskehæren brenner ned alt unntatt kirken. Det samme gjentar seg året etter. En herre ved navn Skott-Oluf eier gården, men selger den Angelli-familien før året er omme.
1702: Borgermester Albert Angell selger gården til bergskriver Peder Hjort.
1844: Kjøpmann John Natanael Ramm kjøper gården, bygger nytt hovedhus, og åpner butikk.
1863: Ramm blir til Røros Sparebanks andre kasserer, lager bankhvelv i kjelleren. Olava Sendresen driver butikken videre.
1899: Lars Petersen Skjerdingstad kjøper gården, og fører butikken videre.
1962: Uthusene brenner ned. Mindre skader på hovedhuset. På utsiden av en av inngangene til denne bakgården vil du finne cache-sylinderen bak en stein i muren.
1967: Nord-Kro a.s kjøper den brannherjede gården og åpner et vertshus der.
1980: Atle Ødegård kjøper gården, bygger opp igjen uthusene, nå med gjesterom.
1988: Røros Turisthotell kjøper gården. Vertshus og utleie fortsetter.
2004: I dag fremstår gården som et moderne vertshus, kjent for sin meget høye kvalitet på rom, mat og service. Vertshuset har en egen hjemmeside: http://www.vertshusetroros.no/index.htm
