This cache has been archived.

Geocaching HQ: This cache has now been archived as requested by IDNR. You have 30 days to seek a permit from IDNR and have your cache approved again by your local reviewer. You can find the new policy, the form to apply for a permit, and the step-by-step instructions on what to do to have your cache unarchived at http://www.in.gov/dnr/7488.htm .

Please be sure to read through the new policy so that we can help to publish your cache again as soon as possible. Your local reviewers and Groundspeak are available to answer any questions. You will find at the bottom of this log the email addresses of the Indiana Reviewers as well as a contact at Groundspeak who are happy to help.

Please know that the Indiana reviewers have done everything in their power to keep as many caches as possible on IDNR lands and to make this transition as smooth as possible. They have worked long and hard with the IDNR to come up with a new policy that will work for most cache owners. We are very sorry for any inconvenience the implementation of this permit process may cause.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Brown County State park - a small fee is charged to enter the park. The cache is off of the trail that links Ogle Lake to Ogle Hollow Nature preserve. The difficulty/terrain rating of 2/3 applies whether you park at Ogle Lake or at the campground. If you choose to do this cache along with the rest of the 'Looping Around Ogle Lake' caches then the overall rating of the loop is 2.5/3.5

The cache is an ammo box filled with trinkets and a log.

Although the cache is on "flat" ground, it will be a difficult/slippery, albeit short, scramble to get to/from the cache. If the listed coordinates don't work, then try:
N 39.09.579 and W 086.14.297

This is the fifth in a series of independent caches that follow one of our favorite 2+ mile, self discovered, looping trails in Brown County. The loop starts at the Ogle Lake parking lot. You will travel on the Ogle Lake trail, an old fire trail, through the campground, the Ogle Hollow Nature Preserve , and end up back around Ogle Lake. The overall Difficulty/Terrain rating of the entire loop is: 2.5/3.5

We enjoy connecting 'official' trails, roadways, natural trails, and fire trails into a decent length and challenging looping trail. We hope you enjoy our looping trail too.

Enjoy the hunt and cache ya'll later,
Feline Friends

P.S. Depending on your approach you may have to cross a creek. The creek may be just a dry creek bed, or it may have up to 1 foot of water in it.
