This is one of many small churches that dotted rural Illinois. This church was formed in 1840 by the Methodists and was active until 2003. When membership dwindled to only a few, the congregation sadly decided to closed the church. At that time the building was turned over to the Rooks Creek Twp to maintain and preserve the structure. The church building is still uses for wedding and the annual Memorial Day Service . Sadly due to vandalism the church building was demolished several years ago.
The cache is an ammo can, which is hidden well. Do not go through the cemetery to reach this cache.Please replace the cache as you found it. The cache is well stocked with all kind of goodies. If you are interested in old grave sites visit the cemetery, there are graves dating back to the early 1800's. I would like to thank the Rooks Creek Twp Board for granting me permission to place this cache.
