Geocache Description:

The first of Lostrider's Tripple Whammy Challenge. feeling energetic, go to this webpage http://www.moss-net.co.uk and print off the circular route. This is a challenging walk of around two hours long through woodland, pasture land and some spectacular views. It starts with a nice walk along the Moss Valley, learn about our Industrial Heritage. Look out for Kingfishers, Squirrels, Sparrowhawks and other wildlife. If its wet you will need Good walking boots or welly's.

The original cache was taken by Muggles so has been replaced. The cache is at the same co-ordinates but a different hiding place.

The cache is a pill box box containg the following:

Pen

 

The path to this cache follows part of the route of Ned the Donkey.
Ned was owned by John Hallam in the early 1800's.
Ned carried Scythe & the Scythe & Sickle blades, unaccompanied, between what is now the Craft Centre at Ridgeway and the Never Fear Dam.

The co-ordinates shown are for the public car park. Do not park in the Pub car park; follow the track to the right of the Public Toilet.

To find the actual; Co-ordinates of the cache first answer these questions.

 

The answers are on the interpretive board in the Car Park.

Q2. What is the number on the map, of the dam previously called “Swan Lake”?

 

Deduct the answer to Q1 from the last three digits of N53 19.088

Deduct the answer to Q2 from the last three digits of W001 23.105

 

Note: From autumn to spring this is definitely a welly walk, you have been warned.
