CCNB-A Survivor Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

PA Ladi: With the beautiful weather I just had to get out side. If anyone feels compelled to tell the reluctant cacher I was out here be sure to tell him I took my crutches just in case but didn't need them.

I suspect the cache is still there but it's so buried under the decaying tree that I could not find it. Will regretfully archive this one open the area for another cacher. Thanks to all who visited.

Geocache Description:

This cache was named for the family of a dear friend who was key to my discovery of caching. (Carol, CW, Nichole, and Bradley) Thanks so much!

This cache was originally placed in Waller Mill Park, Williamsburg in 2003 for the First annual HamptonRoads Cache Dash. It was the first cache placed by Beaconbabe and myself. Shortly after the event Hurricane Isabel visited Tidewater and did extensive damage to Waller Mill. The cache survived the hurricane and early cleanup in the park. It was found and brought to the rangers station where "Ranger Mike" kept it safe until we went looking for it. We were very happy to find it safe and still very well stocked so we decided to place it closer home.
Virginia Power volunteers have placed several fishing piers (I'd call them decks) along the lake, so bring your poles if you have the time. There are also tables and benches spaced around the lake. The path is wide and an easy walk but muddy in places. Cache is not far off the trail. Hope you enjoy our survivor.

Water moccasins have been spotted near the fishing piers. Use caution especially near the water.

PLEASE DO NOT SEEK THIS CACHE AFTER DARK. The park closes at sundown.
