What with all the pop culture icons these days we simply could not resist a tribute to one of our most endearing characters from Lord of the Rings Twin Towers. Next time you are hanging around, rent a copy and watch out for TreeBeard, the Ent.
Cary geocachers pride themselves on the wealth of nearby trail and urban caches. We wanted with this cache to direct attention to a singular natural landmark that has stood here for longer than the town itself. Some quirk of fate or other enchantment left this clue of bygone days and less urban ways. Right smack in the middle of Cary's downtown office district on Academy Street you too can visit this amazing piece of neglected history.
This is a traditional cache boldly hidden in an urban cache setting. For experienced geocachers this will be a quick park and grab. For newbies, this will be a challenging urban cache to get you started.
You can park at our dentist's office and get your teeth polished before or after finding the cache. Access from the parking lot is convenient, but there is no semblance of a trail, so watch your footing. Because of its urban setting, watch out for muggles during normal business hours. You are hidden from the main street while searching, but it is a highly frequented pedestrian area.
You seek a large tubberware container filled with various toys and a few items for adults. The first finder can take the FTF geocaching button as a momento. Please hide the container as well as you found it and try to leave no clue of its whereabouts nearby.
