Geocache Description:

This is an old Pioneer Cemetery. The city Parks and Recreation Department and members of the family Dierdorff help take care of this remote cemetery that seems misplaced.
There is also a Revolutionary war soldier buried here.

The little girl that was first buried here died of Consumption. Consumption is an old name for tuberculosis (TB) that describes how the illness wastes away or consumes its victims. TB is "an ancient enemy" that has plagued humankind for more than five thousand years.

Pioneer life was not as easy as we have things now. When most people think of Pioneers they think the "Oregon Trail". Which is true. But the pioneers that are buried here are Pioneers of a different sort. The first person buried here is a little girl. Her family from the Isle of Wight. The Isle of Wight is located just below England. It took them almost 3 years to reach thier destination in "Ioway".

There is alot of history here. Please take the time to look around but as always please be respectful.

This will be and easy find. But you do have to log in the log book and anwser some questions to claim a find. E-mail me the answers please. Logs may be deleted.

?#1- The story of the cemetery began when THIS person sailed from the Isle of Wight in June of THIS YEAR?

?#2- What is the little girls name who is the first person buried here?
