the trail from the parking area and along the edge of
grouse creek to the falls is a pleasant 15 minutes walk.
localgroups have built board walks and steps.
The last few steps to the cache are off of the
trail to the uphill side and are responsible for
the D4 rating.
a parking area with a vault toilet is just past the
3 mile marker up grouse creek road. Trail no. 83
continues along the edge of grouse creek and past
some camping areas where the boy scouts have had
some outings. And local groups interested in fish
habitat improvements have worked with the Idaho
fish and game in this area as described on signs
here. the area below the falls is only 15 easy minutes
from the parking area. the first ten minutes on
improved trail and the final bit is an obvious trail
down to the creeks edge. Some times fish are
apparent but I did not see any while setting this
cache.
The ammo can is snuggled in a rock crevise above
the last few steps of this trail.
