Geocache Description:

Potawatomi Red is a series of four caches intended to give you a tour of the south end of McNaughton Park (a Registered Reserve), which includes part of the Potawatomi Trail. Each of the first three may be found in any order while the fourth cache needs clues from those first three locations. Recommended parking is at 40 degrees, 34.968 minutes and 089 degrees, 36.214 minutes.

This trail has a long history and many area Boy Scouts can recount tails of both building the trail and having grand adventures during various camping trips. It is marked with red blazes on trees or red markers along over 7 miles of narrow, wild trail within the park. The Park plays host to an annual Ultra Marathon race, has a challenging 16 hole disk golf course, and has a nearby horse riding stable.

Final is a two stage conventional cache using clues from the first three. The first location will give you the easy decoding for the final. The final location is a Tupperware styled container with the usual geocaching trade items.

All geocaches on Pekin Park Land require a special use permit. Thanks to the Pekin Park District for approving this cache!
