Geocache Description:

This cache is handicapped accessible and fairly easy to find

You will be looking for an ammo box with a log book and some cool items for trade. First to find will have and option to pick up a travel bug to help it on it's journey.

This cache has great surroundings as it is hidden on the property of the Volga German Haus Museum. It is owned by the Ellis County Historical Society and if you have time you can find even more history about the Hays area. The Historical Museum is only 100ft east of the cache. I have a little information written below about where you're at and what you can see and do.

**********************************************************

View our history in the main gallery, from Wild West through World War II and beyond, and including a visit from then-Senator John F. Kennedy. As always, our Learning Center for children of all ages, located in our balcony, is open for learning fun, with a photo gallery, try-on clothes, old-time toys, farm animals and diorama, and much more. The stone chapel, built in 1879, is the site of several exhibits, including a wedding attire exhibit each June. The Harness Shop, an original store from the early 1900s located on the ECHS grounds, displays saddles and other related items, telling the story of Ellis County ranchers. Our replica Volga German Haus, also located on the grounds of the museum, tells the story of Ellis County's largest immigrant group, the Volga Germans, who settled in Ellis County after a sojourn of over 100 years in Russia.

The Ellis County Historical Society is open from:
10:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. Tuesday through Friday
1:00P.M. - 5:00p.m. Saturday during the summer months

***We have been given permission to hide the cache here.
If you want to wonder around and see more please go in the ECHC building for assiatance.

Have a great time and remember to be safe.
