Geocache Description:

At 690 feet Burrough Hill is one of the highest points in Leicestershire affording fantastic views, across the countryside there is a topscope indicating landmarks that can be seen from the summit.

The cache is placed upon the site of a Iron Age Hill Fort (circa 600 B.C) of which the ramparts are still clearly visible today.

After the settlement here had been abandoned the site was used for fairs and the trading of goods, it is even alleged that the 1873 Grand National was held here ???

The centre of the fort is a vast expanse of open flat land to play on, or even fly your Kite or Model planes ??? If the idea takes your fancy.

There is also a Trig point for you trig pointers to log on route.

The cache is a small Lakeland clip it lid box, please ensure, lid is replaced correctly, contains log + pencil etc…
