This cache is not hidden at the location above. That is merely the
start of this multi cache that is mainly on the North Shore. Also,
the location that you log on this page is the final, correct,
location. Do not log the find for the first container (the one
these coordinates point to) on this page.
Do you remember those old Choose Your Own Adventure Books? They
were the books where you would read the story and at certain points
you could choose how the main character proceeded. There were one
or two ways to have success, but the other ways led to misfortune.
That is the theme of this geocache. Here's how it works.
1) After the instructions, this page will have a beginning to a
story. Read the beginning, then go to the given coordinates to find
a micro cache. At that point the story will continue. Then, the
story will give you three options on how to proceed. You will have
to choose an option and go to that location to find the micro
cache. Two of the locations will lead to dead ends. Each dead end
will have a micro cache that will have a story that is written to
inform you that it is a dead end. If you reach either of these, you
must choose another option. Once you choose correctly, then you
will find another part of the story. Again, you must choose one of
three options to go to.
2) There are a total of 10 caches. There are 4 correct finds
(including the first one) and 6 dead ends. The fourth and final
correct find will be the cache which is in a 1 liter lock &
lock container. All of the other hides are in film canisters.
3) Please do not put trade items in any of the film canisters.
4) Each individual container has no more than a terrain rating of
2 and a difficulty rating of 2.
5) I wanted to reduce the frustration of finding the caches at
their locations. The fun/frustration is supposed to be in choosing
which location to go to. So, I triple checked the coordinates at
each location. However, since they are micros, the accuracy makes a
bigger difference than normal. So, I also added encrypted hints to
each option. These hints should be complete give aways for finding
the micro containers.
6) I have also made 3 of the dead end finds loggable. You will
have to go to one of these three pages to log those finds.
CYOCA 1
CYOCA 2
CYOCA 3. The notes in the containers will tell you which number
you can log it onto. If the note does not say you can log it, that
means you can't for that one. Please do not trade in these
containers. Just sign the log book.
7) Under each option you will see street names in parentheses.
These streets will take you close to that container.
8) I really wanted to find copies of the Choose Your Own
Adventure books to put in the cache. But, they are apparently
out-of-print. So, I have put a few small Robert Munsch books in
with the other trade items. If you find these books in the cache,
feel free to take one with no trade. But, please give it to a young
person to read. I will hopefully be restocking these books at
various times when the amount gets low.
9) Finally, do not disclose, hint at, etc. any of the locations or
correct choices on this page or the other CYOCA pages. This will
just ruin the cache for the following cachers.
Now. On with the story!
You wake up this morning. Thankfully, you have no plans for
today. The day is all yours. What will you do? Is that really a
question? You will go geocaching, of course. So, you go over to
your computer and turn it on. A few minutes later, you are sitting
at your computer looking at www.geocaching.com. Then, you hear
a knock at your door. “Phooey,” you exclaim. "It always happens
when I’m in the middle of something important." You get up and
trudge on over to the door. You open it and there is a strange man.
He is about 4 feet tall, has long rainbow coloured hair, and is
hopping up and down. He smiles, turns, and runs away. As he runs,
he looks back at you and gestures with his head for you to follow
him. You are always in need of more exercise and your day has been
quite boring anyway. So, you put on your shoes, grab your GPSr, and
chase after him.
