Maribor ima bogato zgodovino. Kmalu po pridobitvi mestnih pravic pride pod Habsburžane in se zacne razvijati in širiti. Vendar ga pestijo tudi težave: veckratni požari, napad Turkov, kuga. V spomin in v zahvalo, da so se rešili kuge, na enem od osrednjih trgov postavijo Kužno znamenje.
A = koliko kipov sestavlja spomenik?
Ena od pomembnejših mariborskih osebnosti je vsekakor Anton Martin Slomšek, ki je v Maribor iz Sv. Andraža prenesel sedež škofije. Bil je tudi odlocen zagovornik materinšcine in utemeljitelj ljudskega šolstva. Pokopan je v stolnici, pred kratkim pa ga je papež Janez Pavel II proglasil za blaženega.

Maribor se ponaša z lepim in urejenim mestnim parkom, v katerem je zasajenih okrog 130 vrst razlicnih dreves iz vsega sveta. V parku pa je tudi vec ribnikov.

Maribor je tudi mesto vina. V bližini je vec vinskih cest, grici nad mestom so zasajeni z vinsko trto, v središcu mesta je ena najvecjih in najstarejših vinskih kleti v Evropi. Mesto pa se tudi ponaša z najstarejšo trto na svetu.

F = na enem od procelij boste videli Bakhusa – boga vina, ki sedi na sodu vina. Kaj je nad njim (5 = zastava; 1 = zvonec; 7 = dežnik)
Ko boste obiskali vseh šest tock, boste spoznali tudi druge znamenitosti mesta, kot so: Stolna cerkev (lahko se povzpnete na njen zvonik in uživate v razgledu), Rotovž, Mariborski grad, gledališce, Lent (kjer se vsako leto odvija poletni festival), akvarij terarij v mestnem parku itd.

Maribor has rich history. Soon after it was given the city rights, it came under control of austrian Habsburg family and started developing and growing. But it suffered from several troubles: multiple devastating fires, invasions of the Turks, plague epidemic. The Plague Column was erected by grateful citizens after the plague epidemic finally ended.
A = How many statues are there in the monument?
One of the most important Maribor's personalities certainly is bishop Anton Martin Slomšek, who transferred the diocese from St. Andraž (in today's Austria) to Maribor. He was also promotor of slovene language and founder of public education. He was buried in cathedral in Maribor and in 1999 he was beatified by Pope John Paul II.

Maribor prides itself upon it’s beautiful city park, where some 130 sorts of trees from all over the world are growing. There are also some ponds.

Maribor is a city of wine. Maribor is surrounded with some wine growing hills and wine roads, in the middle of the town lies one of the largest and oldest wine cellars in Europe. In the town is also the oldest vine in the world., called The Old Vine.

F = There is Bacchus – god of wine at one of the buildings, sitting on the barrel of wine. What is above him? (5 = flag; 1 = bell; 7 = umbrella)
