Geocache Description:

Segsbury Camp is an Iron Age fort near the Ridgeway with excellent views over the surrounding countryside. This location is suitable for children, dogs and picnics.

Segsbury Camp is older than Uffington White Horse and consists of a large enclosure with surrounding ditch. Recent excavations have revealed extensive ancient occupation, possibly due to it's high, protected position and proximity to the Ridgeway path. It is a very peaceful location with superb views over the Oxfordshire countryside.

The cache is towards the Ridgeway from Segsbury Camp, outside the area of the Scheduled Ancient Monument. The cache is some way above ground.

There is car parking adjacent to the cache.
