This easy magnetic micro will take you to an out-of-the-way location in Boonville that is the site of some historical information about a bridge that used to span the Missouri River. The bridge was demolished in 1998, but there are interesting photos and bits of historical information here.
The location is not on a major street or highway, so not many people know about the site, but follow the coordinates and you will find it with no trouble.
The coords will get you real close, but there is a dense canopy of cover at this location year around, (the new bridge), so if you want to look at it, there is a "give-away" hint below.
The cache is a flat, dark colored magnetic key box.
***Item of interest***
The floor of the old bridge was laid wth a metal "grid" and most people found that it caused their car to scoot from side to side because of the "grooves" in the metal flooring. The truth is, before the days of wider belted tires, you could get started crossing the bridge and then turn loose of the steering wheel and the grooves would guide the car across without it scooting from one side to the other!! It would even turn the curve that the bridge formed at the north end!!
You had to be a little warped or daredevelish to ever think of trying this, but I fit both categories when at the 16-17 year age so.....! I won several bets with "non-believers" about this. One prize was a set of "flipper" hubcaps for my '55 Ford. Quite a treasure in 1957!!!
