This is the fourth of a series of puzzle caches dealing with Austrian literature (hence the abbreviation AL). Each cache deals with one author. You will likely need to read one or more books to be able to answer the questions.
The above coordinates are just a general area indicator.
The other AL-Caches can be found here: comprehensive Austrian literature bookmark listing.
In a book on Austrian scurrilities, the author mentions the Slovenian village of Škofja Loka. When did the farmer become rich in this episode? The second crossfoot of the year be Z.
In the same collection, Paul Flora is quoted. How many letters does the first place mentioned have? This figure be Y.
In a novel by this author, the main character and the second person introduced in this book (with a name borrowed from a far more famous Austrian book with a still more famous title) meet in Vienna. Compare the two second names: what’s the difference if you sum up letters as numbers (a=1, b=2 etc.)? The difference be X.
In the same novel, how old had Franz Grünmandl from Heinzenberg im Zillertal been when he was interviewed by the police (constabulary). His age be VW.
In another novel by this author, she is talking about Kafka. Sindbad would have certainly gotten into the castle and Ulysses/Odysseus probably out. But how many letters does the other novel (in the German original, not counting the article) have? This number be U.
Finally, when did the Author supposedly start to dictate his (up to now) final book, long after he had died? The date be ddmmyyyy. Calculate the second crossfoot, it be T.
