At the Heart river near Hebron North Dakota
Heart , river, 180 mi/290 km long, N.Dak.; rises in the low prairie country near the Little Missouri R., Billings co., SW N.Dak., near the S unit of the Theodore Roosevelt Natl. Park at 46°56'N 103°13'W; flows E through Patterson Reservoir, past Dickinson, through L. Tschida and Heart Butte Dam, to the Missouri R. at Mandan. The Heart Butte and Dickinson dams, irrigation and flood control units built by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation as part of the Missouri R. Basin Project, have created the region's largest lakes, which are major recreation areas. Main tributaries are Antelope and Big Muddy creeks and Green R. remember this is a micro, log only, bring a pen.
