This cache is located in the center of a once very active farming area in Harriman State Park.
A good way to approach this cache is to take the Longpath Trail (long tourquoise blue blaze) to its intersection with a rather wide woods road at N. 41 13.509/W. 074 05.953. From here the cache area can be reached following the large unmarked woods road. If you are interested in cellar holes, stone walls, and the traces of old farms, approaching this cache on the Beech Trail (Dark Blue Blazes) from Rte. 106 (parking at N. 41 14.014/W. 074 05.518) will take you by many remnants in this once popular farming area. If you have children with you, please be aware that at N. 41 13.487/W. 074 06.207 there is an old well which is quite visible, but is nonetheless a HAZARD worthy of caution, and worthy of a visit if you have time.
