Multi-Stage (3), from mini to medium/large.
This is one of our "Hidden In Plain Sight" caches. The series is all caches that are in plain sight (from some angle), and are either camo'd, inaccessible or in a place you normally wouldn't look.
This cache can be done 2 ways - by parking and doing the 1st 2 stages, and then moving for final, or just take a longer hike. It's "Oak-K Either Way".
A while back, the last stage of this cache was muggled and we abandoned it. Today,(07-15-07) we went out and replaced the final cache in a different area, less than 1/2 mile from the second stage(as the crow flies).
There are coordinates only in the first 2 stages, but the swag and log are in the final. The first stage is along/near the Ice Age Trail. The second stage is near Shelter #1, on a spur off of the IAT. The final stage is near a nearby horse/walking trail. For all the stages, items related to nature are a good trade. Check out our "Survival In A Can" and "Keebler Vacation Home" caches nearby too!
02/02/25 update:
We went out and replaced the second stage. Same placement, different container. The final had originally been a hanging cache, but after a bunch of brush/tree clearing, it would be too visible. It is now on the ground. This is no longer a 'Hidden In Plain Sight' cache.
Parking for the first 2 stages can be found along the road near HWY 67 and Road X. If you decide to drive to the last stage, parking will be near where Road X and Moraine Ridge (horse) Trail crosses.
I have also scouted for the final stage of this cache by getting on a trail near where it comes near HWY 67, across from the Ice age parking lot, which is a bit south of Road X.
