Geocache Description:

When you mix the three primary or three secondary colours you get White, which is of course not a colour in itself but an extreme of shade. Therefore to find this cache you already need to have found the Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Green and Purple caches. This is one of the two ‘bonus’ caches, Black and White. This is the easiest one to get to, you’ll need to work harder for the Black one but the reward is greater. Please bring white swaps.

The above coordinates are for the suggested parking place and if you look at a map you will see it’s near to White’s Plantation, through which passes the West Highland Way east of Loch Lomond.

Gather the clues from the previous caches and substitute to find the full coordinates;

N56° 05.(Wa)(Wb)(Wc)
W4° 28.(Wd)(We)(Wf)

In Purple you will find Wa and Wf
In Orange you will find Wb and We
In Green you will find Wc and Wd

The distance to the cache is around 800 m from the parking spot, mostly on hard packed forest path with approximately 100 m walking through the undergrowth. If you follow the GPSr to 0.047’ north and 0.037’ east of the cache you’ll find a little stream at the side of the path, follow it into the undergrowth going approximately SSW. You’ll have to hop side-to-side across the stream as you go due to fallen trees etc. You’ll come to a point about 12 m West of the cache where the trees open up a bit; you should regain reasonable reception at this point. From this direction the hiding place should be obvious. Good luck.

Just down from the suggested parking place is a bench, which affords an excellent view of the south end of Loch Lomond. If you have long distance x-ray binoculars you can see the Black cache from here!

As Katie Melua will sing in her next album “The piano has black and white keys……but it sounds like a million colours in my mind”.
