After placing A Rocky Misadventure geocache, driving to the end
of the road and visiting Double or Nothing Geocache, we ate our
lunch sitting on a natural rock dam. Trusty Companion had to
continue with the geology lecture and tells us that at this site
(the natural dam) the rock layers forces water up and there is
usually above ground flow of water below the dam area. It is one of
the few spots in the canyon that has water most of the time. This
particular December is quite dry so no water.
We cleaned up our lunch debris, looked around a bit, and then
headed up the canyon. We came to a trail split and debated which
way to go. Decided to stay with the streambed. Walked on some more
until we came to some more interesting rocks lying at our feet.
Clouds were coming in; the day was getting chilly, windy and
threatening rain so we decided to place our last cache for the day
and head back. This cache is also in a tin and should not be quite
so hard to find because Sneakiekittie did not hide it, Trusty
Companion did this one.
