“Exploring Double-Pond II” Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

klizich: Thanks to all for visiting over the past 10 years plus. This one would not meet the new State of NJ Geocaching Policy and had to be archived. The container was picked up today; no trackables were found in it.
It's a shame more people don't know about or visit this area. Besides the cemetery, exploratory iron mines are very close by, as is the A.T.
If possible, I may include this in a wherigo in the future.
Thank you all again.

Geocache Description:

Easy, short hike, regular cache within Wawayanda State Park in NJ, a short distance off of the Appalachian Trail. Easily accessed from Warwick Turnpike (Moe Rd. or similar on some maps). Cache area is slightly rocky; getting there requires small stream crossing (about 4').

Cache container changed to a black decon container.

Cache contains a log book, pencil, and some swag. While this is close enough to be a “lunchtime” cache, make sure you consider the caveat of the stream (a good crossing place is near a downed tree, rocks)and consider the little creatures...particularly ticks! In warmer weather, be alert for animals and snakes as they DO live and exist here. Poisonous and non-poisonous snakes are native. Enjoy!
