Geocache Description:

This Cache is located on Rt. 13 just North of the Rt. 223 intersection at the site of the Newtown & Hoffman Creeks Watershed, otherwise known as the Sullivanville Dam.
Park at 42* 11.703N 076* 47.069W which is the second parking area North of Tate Equipment.

This watershed is designed for flood control and can be used for passive recreation including hiking, fishing, and enjoying nature. It was constructed in 1988. The drainage area is 11,580 acres, the height of the dam is 71 feet, and the water surface area covers 26 acres. It is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Dogs are welcome but must be leashed.
Look for the small sign near the beginning of the Dam that states "Great Oak Trail" and start here. Stay on the trail until you reach the old road. Then you will need to locate another trail off this road. You should only need to bushwack a very little bit, at the very end near the cache. The trails can get muddy at times. If you try to bushwack from the beginning, you will encounter water, mud, prickers and bird-ox.
The cache is a 30mm green ammo container. The cache coordinates are an average based on clouds and tree cover. Use you caching instincts if you have trouble.
