Deep Cover Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Rakusan: After the last DNF, I stopped by briefly a few weeks ago to see if I could find it. I didn't have a light, though, and that hampered my search.

This afternoon, I went back with a strong flashlight and made a thorough search of the site. I didn't find any trace of the cache. Maybe the raccoons got it - I found lots of incriminating paw-prints - but in any case, it's been muggled. And I've decided against replacing it, so it's archived.

Now to "blow the cover" - this cache was in a very large culvert underneath Airpark Road, one large enough for the stream and for a hiking/horseback trail. I put it in the riprap boulders across the creek from the trail, as close to the center of the culvert as I could manage. The coordinates are those of the center-stripe of the roadway, over the center of the culvert.

It's had a good long play, and I offer my thanks to those who have found it - and my apologies to those who never did.

Geocache Description:

I may have under-rated this one ... heheheh ...

Cache is a 5" x 5" snap-tight box; its lid is covered with dark tape. It's hidden under a rock ... but which rock, and where? (You shouldn't have to lift any BIG rocks to get at it, though.)

The best way to reach this is by way of Percheron Perch (GCMBY4); park along the shoulder of the road at 39°09.223'N, 77°08.234'W. "Percheron Trail" will take you past the vicinity of Percheron Perch to the vicinity of Deep Cover.

Alternative parking is in a church lot whose entrance is at 39°08.996'N, 77°08.708'W.
