Geocache Description:

This cache was placed with the knowledge and permission of John Trantis Hunterdon County Parks and Recreation Director.Since hunting is allowed,by limited permit, during hunting season it is suggested that you wear blaze orange or confine visits to Sundays.

It is our first cache and we took numerous readings during different seasons before coming as close as we could with the coordinates.

Parking is available " above" in the Mountain Farm section or " below" off of Hollow Brook Road on two single lane pull offs.

Pick up a trail map "above" next to the campers office or " below " at the trail heads. They will also lend to the history of the Teetertown Ravine.

This preserve boasts of a geology area, old orchards, ponds for fishing, camping areas, and picnic groves. It is a quiet refuge with beautiful views of the valley. Rare birds, fox, and other wild life can be observed along your journey and off of three main trails.

Remember to wear good hiking shoes and to stay on the trail if crossing through the Geology Study area. The cache is in a .50 cal. ammo box and relates to nature in one way or the other. Take what you like. Leave what you may. Have fun!
