The Ladybug Kids sincerely
hope your wheels stay round and tires stay full of air during your
tour of the Bike Trail cache series so they don't meet the same
fate this cache did. If you travel more of the trail than you
see while visiting this cache you will be rewarded with views of
Noyes Slough, ponds with wildlife, Dog Mushers'
Hall, Ballaine Lake, the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and
last, but certainly not least, Hot Licks Ice
Cream, a favorite place to end a bike ride on a warm
summer day.
This is a multi-use
path. In the summer, the path is frequented by bicyclists,
runners, baby joggers, dog walkers, rollerbladers and roller
skiers. In the winter, the trails are used by bicyclists
(even down to -40° F/C), runners, walkers, skiers, and skijorers because they are packed so
nicely by snowmobile traffic. Due to Fairbanks' long cold
winters, many sections of the bike trails have been frost heaved,
making a mountain or hybrid bicycle the most practical means of
two-wheeled transportation.
The cache has only a logsheet
and a First-To-Find prize. There is no room for trade goods except
perhaps Where's George dollars and similar items. BRING YOUR
OWN PENCIL.
Be sure to record the mystery
cache code word from the title block of the cache log sheet .
You will need the code word to find an upcoming bonus mystery
cache.
If you "cache and dash" this
cache rather than tour the bike trail, please park in one of the
pullouts to the north and NOT on the road shoulder.
