1. At the posted co-ordinates, face at approximately 40° and count how many Noah’s Arks you can see that have gills showing, times the number of horses draughting = A
Note: Noah's Arks is rhyming slang for sharks. Painted on the wall on the LHS of the verandah, there used to be 2 sharks - one with the gills clearly showing. These have now been painted over and possibly the "Sharks" snooker club that used this pub as it's home base has since moved on.
There also used to be a Carlton Draught sign with the iconic two draught horse - but that is gone as well!
From this information, you should now be able to work out A
2. BCD = (600/A) – 77
3. E = Ax2
4. F = E-1
5. G = F+2
Go to S38°32.BCD E145°2E.EFG
6. At this location count the number of bars that are behind the bench seat = HI
7. J = HI – (E+3)
8. KLM = (HI x The length in feet of George Bass’s open whaler boat)+183
See nearby board for boat length.
Final Cache is located at: S38°3A.1JE, E145°AE.KLM
It is a camoflaged screw top plastic container with the usual items. Pen may be a bit fragile, so please take care.
Please note: The original access route to this cache has been totally overgrown, so to find the optimum access point to get to the final - subtract 6 points from the south co-ords and 48 points from the east co-ords. This will get you to the start of a back track that will take you straight to the cache.
